The CALL FOR PROPOSALS is CLOSED.
International Symposium of Poetic Inquiry
Auckland, New Zealand 23rd-26th October 2024
Connection, Community, Craft
In the wake of the pandemic, we are wanting to gather together as a community to connect and create as poetic inquirers. We believe that as we write, we craft the world in new ways. We want to focus on poetic inquiry as strengthening our communitas, as reminding us that we are a chorus of voices.
The focus of this symposium is connection, community, and craft.
We invite abstracts for 15 minute presentations or 40 minute workshops on the focus of creating community through craft.
We encourage presentations by a collective of voices as a group or a pair, and we invite sole presenters to show how they are in dialogue with other voices (other poets, other writers, other kin). We also welcome presentations that focus on crafting poetry, exploring how through crafting words we can shape worlds.
This conference will take place in a hybrid mode with both in-person or online presentation possible. We encourage people presenting online to pre-record their presentation and Zoom in for the questions and answer time.
Please email your 200 word proposal, along with a brief biography to ispi2024@gmail.com by Wednesday 30th August. We also accept video abstracts in lieu of a written abstract.
Notice of acceptances will be sent out on Tuesday 31st October.
